Thinking About Crafts

Recycling in itself is a great activity for young children, it teaches them how to take care of the environment and how you can sort objects into diverse materials (plastic, metal, paper). As lengthy as all of the products are clean and no cost from sharp edges youngsters needs to be able to produce use of any and all goods within the family recycling bin.

As any parent knows, younger youngsters are more fascinated by cardboard boxes than what came in them. This isn’t as true for older children but they still love to play with and generate issues out of cardboard. Some other items that little ones can use that you may not readily associate with recycling are:

Birthday or Christmas cards – in the event you don't keep them year right after year kids can minimize them up and use the images for photos or as puppets by gluing a popsicle stick to the back.

Old newspaper and magazines. The newspaper could be shredded for paper maché or little ones can minimize out individual letters to produce a secret message. The magazines is usually used to cut out letters too or reduce out images to make a collage.

Old clothing including orphaned socks or jeans that are beyond repair. Use the socks to make sock puppets and put on a puppet show. You are able to use other recycled supplies to decorate the sock puppet. A popular craft made with blue jeans is to reduce off the back pockets and sew onto an Betsey Johnson handbag or use both pockets to create a smaller purse.

Old compact discs that do not work anymore may be decorated and re-used as coasters.

Kids have excellent imaginations, let them pick their own materials from the recycling and see what they come up with. Just be careful with glass along with other items that could reduce or otherwise hurt younger children.
